Summary: The Operator Registration Act, which became effective July 1, 2014, and changes made to the Adult Care Home Licensure Act are discussed. As of July 1, 2014, adult care homes are not allowed to operate without the supervision of an operator who is registered under the Operator Registration Act or a licensed adult care home administrator authorized to operate an adult care home under the Adult Care Home Licensure Act. The requirements for registration as an operator and the rules and regulations to be established by the Secretary for Aging and Disability Services are outlined.
